Wright Brothers Airplane on Governors Island, 1911

My jaw dropped when I saw this image. I connected with the joy of the young boy running - most likely seeing an airplane fly for the first time.  I can't imaging the awe and amazement to be running along in a field as this plane flew only a few feet off the ground.  And thinking back at the hundreds of Wright Brothers we see in school and in the media - I don't remember seeing one of their planes in a setting other than the dunes at Kitty Hawk.  And here it is in front of the STATUE OF LIBERTY.  Wow, this photo blows my mind every time I look at it.
