Horse-drawn carriages traverse the dirt streets and trolley tracks of what was then called Longacre Square. Within a few short years, the busy intersection of Broadway and 42nd Street would be renamed Times Square, with the newspaper’s headquarters rising at One Times Square in place of the Hotel Pabst.
