Pond Skating Central Park, 1904

from 315.00

New York City in 1904 wasn't too different than rural America for winter pleasures. New Yorkers skated on the ponds of Central Park rather than skating rinks purpose built for ice skating and hockey. The graceful Victorian curve of the cast iron Bow Bridge frames the view looking south to newly built apartment buildings along Central Park West.
