A friend of Archivast sourced the material for this frame - it's zinc-wrapped wood moulding made in the USA in the 50s or 60s.  It's a beautiful material that would work well in a home office, library or a modern kitchen.  In the photograph the remnants of the demolition of Pennsylvania Station litter a field in Secaucus, New Jersey. This image became an emblem of New York’s indifference to architectural treasures and later, a rallying cry for preservationists helping to establish the now powerful Landmark Preservation Committee.
