Greenwich Village Life, c. 1910

from 315.00

Two incredible Jessie Tarbox Beals photos of Village street life circa 1910.  These two photos were copied onto one negative and together feel warm and patinaed even though the image on the left feels like early sprint in Washington Square Park and the right photo feels like it was taken just around the corner minutes later in the rain.  Opaque and moody, these two images embody the beatnic eye of Ms Beals.
