Flatiron with Clouds 1904

from 315.00

Taken from a building looking south over the treetops of Madison Square Park, this image captures the sharp yet graceful angles of the Flatiron Building. Surrounded by summer clouds and dappled with afternoon light, the building became an instant icon upon completion in 1902, ushering in a new era of architectural advancement with Daniel Burnham’s Chicago style and steel skeleton construction that allowed skyscrapers to be built at breakneck speed.
